How To Paint Fast Flowing Water
In this video, I’ll share my process for painting fast flowing water in a river landscape scene. You’ll also see what brushes and colours I use to create photorealistic fast flowing water details.
I start by blocking in the shapes and colours of the reflections in the water, then I paint ripple effects across the surface to recreate the motion of the water. I use a blending brush to smooth out areas of the river, and finalise by painting reflections of light on the water’s surface.
I hope that you enjoy this demonstration, and that it gives you an insight into my process for painting fast flowing water in oil.
