How do you glaze your oil paintings?
I often use a glaze of Sap Green and black and a lot of Liquin as a glaze over the acrylic block-in and then add lighter details on top of that for trees or bushes. After the painting is finished and completely dry, a glaze of Liquin and a colour can be added to add a bit darker colour to enhance form. For instance on the shadow side of an apple, or to create darker shadows in a landscape. Once a glaze is attempted, if it appears darker than intended you can use a soft cloth and wipe it off. Often the bit that remains is just the right amount. Glazes are quite forgiving.
